Frequently Asked Questions
How do credits work?
Credit costs vary by action: most checks use 1-2 credits and deeper compliance checks use more. Professional includes 4,000 credits per month; its separate 5,000-request API fair-use cap counts requests, not credits. You get 40 free credits every month with no credit card required.
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current paid period.
What happens when my credits run out?
Your credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and your existing data and history are preserved. To keep working without interruption, upgrade your plan for a higher monthly credit volume.
Do unused credits roll over?
No. Credits are granted monthly for the current billing cycle and do not roll over.
How do monthly credits work on an annual plan?
Annual plans receive their credit allotment monthly at the monthly rate — you are never charged 12x credits upfront. Credits still reset with each monthly billing cycle and do not roll over.
How does cancellation work?
Cancellation stops auto-renewal and is effective at the end of the current paid period — you keep access until then. For an annual plan, cancelling stops auto-renewal and any refund for the unused period follows VGTC's refund policy.
How do refunds work?
VGTC offers goodwill refunds proportional to the unused portion of what you actually paid, floored at $0. File a refund request from your account (billing support can help); every request is reviewed before anything is refunded. Nothing here limits your rights under applicable law.
What happens if my renewal payment fails?
There is no unpaid grace period: when a paid period ends without a successful renewal, the plan drops to Free and you keep your data. Your plan and credits are restored if you subscribe again later.
What about disputes?
Disputes are handled fairly. During an open dispute your account is paused for review; if the dispute is resolved in your favour the plan is restored. You are never banned simply for disputing a charge.
What kind of support is included?
Support response times are targets, not guarantees: Free is best-effort, Starter targets 1 business day, Professional targets 8 business hours, and Enterprise is custom (see your agreement).
